New Job-Sweet!

Upon returning to NYC after a long six months in NC, I needed a JOB! I considered going back to the restaurant that I last worked, Ocean Grill. It would be easy enough, it was fairly close to my house, and I made decent money there. It seemed though that when I went in to re-apply...their schedule wasfull until the end of the year. I needed a job though. NOW. So I went to what I believed was my next best option. My friend Mandy Stallings worked there, a girl in my builiding worked there..and he hype about this place was unbelievable. Enter Buddakan NYC. This place is unreal. In Chelsea Market, a 16,000 sq. ft. Modern Asian restaurant with the capacity to serve 1,000 people on Saturday night. WHAT? This made my little Ocean Grill look like a sidewalk fish vendor. So I went in to apply in the beginning of January and they too were full until the end of the year. The great GM took my application (never a guarantee) and told me to come back at the first of the year. I came back Jan. 4 or so and interviewed for the 2nd and 3rd times (sheesh!) but was told to come in for orientation the next Tuesday. Success! Once I began training, it took me almost three weeks to learn everything, fail my food test the first time and then take it again (and pass) and to finally start working. My first day was Friday, February 2nd and I have since worked for three full weeks. RESPEK!
